Artist Statement
My creative process starts with the use of a camera to create a number of photographic “sketches.” These sketches are used to create a single image that best evokes the “sense of place” using a number of digital painting software programs. I then print a Gilcee (fine art digital print) of the digitally painting on a variety of art papers or canvases. The final image is then completed using traditional chalk pastels, oils, or acrylics to produce a uniquefinished work that combines photography, digital imaging, and traditional art media – i.e. mixed media.
