Artist Statement
Emily Shedlock is a figurative artist living and working in Boston, MA. Emily creates portraits of friends and fellow artists which are most recognizable for their vibrant colors, shadowy figures and unique interior scenes as demonstrated in her recent body of work. Emily’s work explores themes of symbolism, allegory and identity, and she seeks to bring attention to the internal challenges and social issues that affect each of her subjects.
